Then knowing the similarities and differences, as well as the implications of the concept of teacher and student in Surat Al-Kahf verses 65-78 in today's life. While the benefits are to add scientific insight in the field of teaching and reading materials. This study uses a qualitative approach. The type of research used is desk research, and the method used in this study is tafsir muqaran, which is a comparison of Al-Tabari's tafsir and Al-Maraghi's tafsir in Surat Al-Kahfi, verses 65-78, and in this comparison, similarities and differences appear. Then, after the results of the explanation of these two commentators, the author mentions the point that is the concept of the teacher, is murabbi, mu’allim, mursyid, muaddib dan mudarris with aspects of the criteria for the dedication of tawadhu', zuhud and wara', assertiveness and responsibility, patience, and forgiveness. While the concept of students, is thalib and murid, has aspects of dedication criteria is intention for Allah, respect for manners, tawadhu', patience, steadfastness, obedience. The similarity between the tafsir of al-Tabari and al-Maraghi is that both use the analytical method with only the method of Bil-ma'tsur. While Al-Maraghi uses the analytical method in his tafsir, the Bil-ma'tsur approach is associated with the bil-al-ra'yi with patterns al-adabi al-ijtima‘i. The implication in contemporary life is that the five concepts of a teacher should work as a whole and complement each other so that they can become competent teachers according to the environment of society. And students must realize themselves as students in order for the learning process to go well.
