Summary:The problem of the study is the personality focused on the major character namely Rose in James Cameron Titanic movie, based on Psychoanalytic Approach. The aim of the study is to analyze the movie in terms of its structural elements and based on the Psychoanalytic Approach. This study is a qualitative study. The research uses two data source, namely primary data source is taken from the film script itself, while the secondary data is taken from information needed and by capturing images for the image a sort of document as evidence. This study used library research to collect the data. Based on the analysis, the writer draws conclusion. Titanic movie explains that the major character in the movie is distraught and frustrated, because she has been engaged with a man who is chosen by her mother, and her mother stresses the importance of Rose’s engagement, since the marriage eradication of the her mother debts. But, after Rose meets and then falls in love with Jack, her personality becomes a rebellious daughter. Meanwhile, before Rose meets and then falls in love with Jack, she is an obedient daughter.
