总结:This research aims to know the method implemented in teaching English, to describe the problems faced by the trainer and to describe the trainees’ response toward the use of method used by the trainer in teaching English for secretary in Surakarta Vocational Training Centre. The research was conducted at Surakarta Vocational Training Centre on Jl. Bhayangkara No. 38 Surakarta. This research belongs to qualitative research which employs descriptive data. The description of the data are taken from the result of the interview, observation, and documentation. The results of the study are: (a) the method implemented in teaching English for secretary is community language learning, (b) the trainer’s problems are background of knowledge, psychological aspect, time allocation and trainees’ achievement, (c) the trainees’ respond well toward the use of method used by the trainer are: the trainees become active and interactive. The writer concluded that: (1) Community Language Learning is compatible method used in teaching English for secretary, (2) the problems faced by the trainer are background of knowledge, psychological aspect, time allocation and trainees’ achievement, (3) the trainees’ respond well toward the method used in teaching English and appropriate with the material given, (4) the use of method will be effective if the method of teaching is compatible with the objective of teaching, the trainer ’ ability and creativity in integrating the method in teaching and the trainees’ ability and condition.
